Woah slow down...baby bump

Ok so I;m not all about putting my "belly pictures" on facebook like some of my other friends... even though I have had some requests for them, but for some reason I feel more comfortable putting them on my blog. :)
The main reason I am putting them up here is so that other women can google and find information and pictures about the stage in pregnancy. I have been a very busy googler myself.
Anyhoo... I am now 8 weeks pregnant and will be 9 in two days. I felt a small bump a few weeks ago, but no one else noticed and it wasn't big enough to notice. But, this week I have definitely seen a difference. Where once used to be flat (luckily I had a flat stomach growing up.. we won't talk about legs though :) ).. there is now a small hill leaving my upper stomach. I have been told it will never be flat again and I am very sad by this news. I shall make it my duty in life to once be flat again...and I don't mean chested!
Oh and I jinxed myself with my last blog because I gloated how I haven't had any morning sickness.... yeah the very next morning I felt horrible! So I am biting my tognue now.
Hopefully my maternity pants come in soon because I am running out of skirts to wear to teach in!!!

Boys...

So now I am in my 8th week of pregnancy, I am learning more of the "joys" of pregnant life. I am tired ALL the time and I am hungry ALL the time... literally. I can eat and then an hour later I'm ready for a snack. But, (knocking on wood and crossing my fingers and toes) I have been VERY lucky to not get the morning sickness.

I've had many friends tell me that if you don't get sick during your pregnancy, then you are having a boy and if you are sick throughout then you are having a girl. I would be ecstatic with a boy! So, I do hope this myth is true! There is another man who is hoping and praying that we have a boy.... in his words eactly he says, " I want some big strong boys!".

This would of course be my father-in-law, featured in the picture above with Mr. M. As you can tell they are both very far from being short and being 5'10" myself, I do believe you will get your wish, Big L.... if we have a boy! All i can say is that he will be a mighty fine looking boy if he follows Big L. and Mr. M.'s family genes :).

My father on the other hand wants a girl, for some strang reason... I don't know. I will be happy with a healthy baby, but everyone has a preference.

Who wouldn't want to add on to these fun times?

This is a picture from Mr. M. and I's wedding. These are his handsome groomsmen and Mr. M. in the middle, who is of course the most handsome. :) Can you pick out his 2 brothers? :)

Wipe away the dust.. it's time to start up again!

Oh my goodness. A week off from work can really get you lagging. I've got to get back into the swing of things at school. Just think... Halloween will be here soon... and that means Thanksgiving is around the corner... and you know what that means?! Christmas will be here before you know it! :) I love 96.1 because they start playing Christmas music November 1st, yes the day after Halloween. It's beautiful!

Anyhoo. So Gustav sucked! Hopefully we won't be having dejavu with Ike on the way. No offense Texas, but it's your turn on this one. (psst Take a hike Ike... to Texas!)

My funny thought for the day: "Kids say the funniest things!"
My nephew, Lil C, is definitely no exception to this rule. My sister was trying to explain to him that I have a baby in my "tummy" and that there will be a baby soon, etc. This is how the conversation went:
H: "Lil C, did you know that shibmomma has a baby in her belly?"
Lil C: "No she doesn't." *laughing hysterically*
H: "Yes, she has a baby in her tummy!"
Lil C: continuing to laugh... "She didn't ate a BABY momma!!!
ha ha ha! Over his head! This was shortly after he logically explained that he was crying because his "bobo hurt reewwl bad!"
I guess in a 5 year old mind, bobos hurt and babies don't come from bellies. :)

Ok so I am way overdue for some beach pictures from this year's family trip... but here are a few:

Bob was continuously called "Landshark" throughout the vacation because his head was shaved into a mohawk the night before the trip when he had passed out. He actually could pull off the hawk.

So here he is, doing his Landshark impression..

Here is Mr. M and I soaking up some rays. I'll have you know that the only sunburn I received was on my part in my hair... which is wonderful because then it looks like you have dandruff when it peels. Lucky me.
HA! I LOVE this picture! :) So my future sis-in-law

somehow manages to fall over and all we can do is laugh and point. Notice her ever-loving fiance lending a hand to help. Don't get up Bob... we wouldn't want you to put too much effort into this save. :)

*Notice the beer is safe people.... Game on...

Good thing for cousin L! Always lending a helping hand!
and finally last, but certainly not least.... can we say, "COON EYES?!"
This is prob the worst pair of coon eyes I have ever seen! I love it!

Da Beech!!!

Ok so I am officially burnt out from working at school all these days that we don't "technically" have to be there. I'm looking forward to one thing... THE BEACH!
Every year, I go to the beach with Mr. MB's family and it is usually a heck of a trip. It's just a real laid back trip where anything goes. The best part is that almost everyone goes and he has a really big ol family. So, it's like a party on the beach and in the condo 24/7. I don't know if it's necessarily relaxing because we usually stay up to all hours of the night playing ridiculous games. I might even bring the Wii for some late night Mario Cart. :) Unfortunately, this year Mr. MB's older brother, Lil L, and his wife Mrs. LB, won't be able to make it. It's a shame because I just love Lil L drunk. he does this happy dance and kicks his feet everywhere like a little ol hippie who couldn't be happier anywhere else. I think he is definitely happier when he is drunk, but hey aren't we all?

This picture should give you a little insight to the craziness with Mr. MB's family trips. This is Mr. MB and myself "taking" a jello shot, with his mom to the right. I think by the part of the night she had already had a few jello shots on her own. :)

Aww I miss my long hair....sometimes.
Ok. So back to the family. Then we have Mr. MB's younger brother, we can call him Bob, who isn't usually found drunk too many time during the school year because he has to study and work, etc..... but boy does he let go on the family beach trip. He is definitely one of my favorite people to watch if I'm sober... or to drink with if I'm drunk.

This would be Bob "sleeping" on the beach... that's what he claimed to be doing...

Notice how the hand is still on the ice chest. I can't tell if he's trying to get another beer or guarding it in his sleep. :)

It gets better...

So this would be Bob later in the night looking very wide awake... and with a full drink. This would be pre-shots. I swear Mr. MB's family is like a family of Mexicans....they are always dark! Year round people!!! It's just not fair.

This would be Bob post-shots... He's going to kill me. But I love it!

and the drinks keep coming... these are in the form of dirty bananas... it taste like chocolate banana ice cream. It's yummy!

So until next time... I'll be tanning (with a mystic base tan of course) and partying it up one more time before school starts again.

Oh and I know there are a lot of you who read this...because you've talked to me about my new blog... so comment!

Growing Up

I had an epiphany today while working in my classroom...yet again.

One of my close friends is having some roommate problems. To put it plain and simple...one of the two roommates refuses to pay the last month's rent and now she and the other roommate are stuck splitting the bill. This situation really made me realize how glad I am to be old enough to not have to rent with friends anymore. I don't have to deal with that kind of drama! While sometimes I miss the crazy fun of living in a rented place and going out all hours of the night, these are some of the things that make me glad that I'm old enough to own my own house and live with a man that I love. Gone are the days of ridiculous bickering over who's turn it was to clean the kitchen or take out the trash. Wait a second... I still have those same problems! :)
Ok, Gone are the days of living with women. You know how it used to be. Now, don't get me wrong...I loved all of my roommates. But, even the ones you love... you can still have the stupid fights with. I roomed with two of my close friends, the brunettes in my bachelorette picture above, and everyone told me it was a horrible idea, but it really wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been. I've known Rachel ( the girl in green...who will wed in january!) for a looonngg time and then Bianca (the brunette in teal on the right) and I are a lot alike. We were successful at remaining friends after the move out. The blonde, Bonnie, and I basically live together at school because we have taught together and will be teaching together this year. Even though I love them, I don't want to live with them anymore... I'm content with my hubby.

It's just nice to have a place to call "home" and to come home to the same man and the same two dogs everyday... even if the dogs get happier to see me than he does. He needs to jump up and down and squeal with delight like they do. :)

Fresh Meat

Hello all! I am brand new to the blogging world and I'm looking forward to becoming engrossed in it. Being a teacher and with school right around the corner, I figure what's a better time to start talking to complete strangers? Well some of you that may begin to read probably have the privalege of already knowing me. :)

Well for starters, I'll introduce everyone in our quaint family.

I am ShibaMomma because I own two beautiful Shiba Inus. Those would be a rare type of dog for Americans. They are the "labs" in Japan and most people think they look like a fox.

Mina is our oldest Shiba (2years old) and she is a "red" color. She is of course the dog above doing what she loves best... sleeping. She is also found on my blog page, which the quotation beneath saying "what mud?". She definitely keeps us on our toes. She is not one to be held or be called a "lap dog" per say, but she has her sweet moments... those usually found at bed time. During the day she can be found hunting for critters.

Naunna (pronounced "Nawna") is an 11 month old cream Shiba. She is completely different from Mina. She loves to be held and cuddles with. She gets extremely jealous of Mina if we are showing her any affection and will begin pawing at you. She doesn't particularly enjoy outside unless Mina is out there. For the most part she just wants to have her belly rubbed.

And then there is Mr. MB and I. That's all for now. I must sleep so I can slave away in my classroom tomorrow. Yes, teachers really do work during the summer!
